Instructions for use
Simmer in water or stock for 10-15 mins to get a porridge-like consistency and serve alone or as an accompaniment to Middle Eastern dishes. Or coat the buckwheat groats in a little beaten egg or olive oil and toast in a pan to keep the grains separate - use in homemade granola or add to a little stock to make a dish similar to risotto. Buckwheat is commonly used to make tabbouleh, and the three-pointed grains are often found toasted in Middle Eastern salads. Despite the name, buckwheat grains (groats) are not related to wheat so are gluten free.
